BIOGRAPHY

I was born in Frankfurt, Germany, on March 6, 2000.

After six years of playing the oboe, I picked up the drums at 14, and never looked back.

It all started in a school band, followed by gigs with Santa Jaws in 2016.

At 17, I joined Austrian band Psychovillage on their Germany tour.

In 2019, I began posting drum covers on Instagram, later expanding to YouTube... and things took off.

Today, I’m a full-time drummer. My biggest influences (no surprise here) are Joey Jordison and Meytal Cohen.

I’m always open to new band or project collaborations, feel free to reach out via email: mgmt@rajameissner.com

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

It actually started with my little brother, he wanted to learn drums, and as the big sister, I had to give it a try too… obviously.

Turned out, I was hooked from day one. Before I knew it, there was a drum kit sitting in my bedroom.

Then I stumbled across that Joey Jordison video, the one where he plays upside down.

That moment changed everything. I knew right then: I want to do THAT. Joey became my biggest inspiration, and he still is. Forever grateful. (✝︎ 26.07.2021)

About six months into playing, I joined my school band. We messed around with our first songs, and the very first one I learned was “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana.

Back then, I had no idea drum sheets or tutorials even existed. I just listened and played by ear. If I could hear it, I could play it - simple as that.

I started building a small following on Instagram in 2019 with skateboarding clips, that got me to my first 10k followers. Then came the first drum cover… and another… and another.

People connected with it, and it kept growing. So I made a choice: I quit my job and went all in.

Now I play drums every single day and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

What really kicked things off was the idea of keeping it short.

Instagram only allowed one-minute videos at the time and I hadn’t seen anyone just covering a snippet of a song without uploading the full thing on YouTube.

So I thought: Why not? I’ll take the best part of a track, cover it, and post it right here.

At first, it triggered a lot of hate... people didn’t get it. But now? Short-form drum videos are everywhere.

It’s become totally normal. And I’m proud to have been one of the first doing it that way.

My main goal has always been simple: to show the energy and fun of playing drums.

It’s about that rush, that moment you get goosebumps mid-song, when you feel every single beat in your whole body.

I’m currently traveling the world and I’m excited to take you all with me on this journey.

There are so many exciting projects in the pipeline... get ready, it’s going to be wild! This is just the beginning.

I’m incredibly grateful for everything I’ve already experienced and everything that’s still ahead.

My community means the world to me. The people I’ve met on this journey, the support, the messages, the love - I see it all, and I don’t take any of it for granted.

Big thanks to my family for always having my back (and for letting me blast the drums at home, haha), and to my friends who’ve stood by me from day one.

Much love to all of you, let’s keep this going <3

BANDS AND ARTISTS I GREW UP WITH

I didn’t grow up with metal, not even close.

To this day, I honestly have no idea why I ended up falling head over heels for it. But here we are.

These are the artists and bands that shaped my musical journey early on and still inspire me today:

Die Ärzte, Deichkind, The Prodigy, Jan Delay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park, Winson, Guano Apes, Nirvana, Bloc Party, Seeed, Sportfreunde Stiller, Wir Sind Helden, Gorillaz, The Chemical Brothers, Kraftklub, The Love Bülow, Jamiroquai, Fettes Brot, Santigold.

Somehow, all of that mixed together and made me the drummer I am now.

My current favorite bands/songs:
